Most Brutal Extreme Metal/Extreme Punk You've Ever Heard
What the thread title says. Doesn't have to be the most extreme **** ever, or the most extreme stuff posted in the thread, just the most brutal stuff you've ever heard personally. Post Youtube vids or other links if possible.
*I'm including crust punk, powerviolence, and metalcore just to remain inclusive. And because my entry is powerviolence. :p: The **** I just discovered that inspired this thread. If any of you can top this then I'll be giddy as a school girl. Thedowngoing are just insane. |
Don't know whether this counts.
BTW, shouldn't this be among the punk threads? |
Well it's about extreme rock music, which covers both metal and punk, so metal and rock in general are covered in "Rock & Metal". Besides, the punk section is dead.

Maybe some Gorgasm, Stabwound Intercourse is another favorite Cryptopsy's Benedictine Convulsions off None So Vile - that whole album has great lyrics but I've always wondered about the rumor that Worm was drunk during a good part of the recording of the "vocals" and the lyrics for some of the tracks weren't written until later |
Let's see,(edit don't know how the icon got in there) there was some interesting stuff coming out the far East for a while.
Death metal from Taiwan, the sound alone is enough to impel a Chinese invasion Malaysian death metal: One good pig squeal Another Malaysian band and of course Malaysian grindcore superstars Wormrot. They actually got arrested in their country by the department of Islam...for yes the crime of...mingling with unmarried women. Finally, I just love this Japanese guy. |
wasn't being critical of axstar's post, somehow, :whythis: this got inserted.

That top one with the lyrics reminds me of watching Metalacolypse with the CC turned. That genre was left with no where to go 20 years ago. |
pretty good stuff I don't know much but uhh lets see
With Blood Comes Cleansing Vomitory Setherial Mortician Nekrofilth are pretty heavy |
Zane's post is getting there, but I still think we can go heavier. I guess it's pretty subjective though.

To me personally, death metal and deathcore feels heavier/more brutal. I guess the tuning has a lot to do with it. lower tuning intrinsically increases it's potential to be heavier right?
|
I don't care how downtuned they are, unless you're working with some cheap earbuds or computer speakers then thedowngoing should be obviously more brutal than deathcore. The higher treble should be causing your ears almost physical pain, whereas too much downtuning just makes your music sound muddy and flat (as does much deathcore).
But if you want some death metal... And if you want some downtuned hell... |
Mentioned these guys before and with good reason. Extreme Punk? These are the guys. Infest invented Powerviolence.
|
Good to see you back Jackhammer. Infest is definitely one of the best with regard to extreme. I think Los Crudos is very close to falling under those guidelines also. |
