Acid Bath

I just did a search for this band out of curiosity, just to see what five million members had already said about this band, only to find out that "acid bath" yielded no results in a forum search.

Seriously? The **** is wrong with you people?

So, let's all talk about how When the Kite String Pops is the greatest metal album ever recorded.

Stephen 03-16-2016 06:16 PM

No results? Acid Bath

All that gave me was a Google search that included absolutely nothing about Acid Bath. I guess old people just don't know how to use search engines.

Mondo Bungle 03-16-2016 07:06 PM

I was happy to get my friend heavily into them. A heavy combo of Type O Negative, Alice in Chains, and the Doors, and those are basically his favorites.

There's some pretty bad quality on Golgotha's demo, and I like raw stuff. But none of it is unlistenable
I really like this thrashed out version of the song.

Goofle 03-16-2016 07:36 PM

Don't use the forum search function if you can avoid it.

I already had this demo on my computer, and the equalizer on MusicBee has the treble kicked up so high that this sounds like it's drilling straight into my brain. Awesome.

My experience with these guys involved 2 close buddies. One of them was just all teeth for AB, totally wore the album out (the one with Gacy paintings on the cover, was about '99 I think). The other friend told me "I just don't get 'em, man". I was pretty much with the second friend.

Prog dweeb. How could you not love this? (Ignore the anime goofiness. This was the only video of this song I could find.)

Noting??? These are quotes from the links.

both equally good albums, but i think Acid Bath has the slight edge, tunes-wise and sheer driving power, the only thing i dislike about it is the over-distorted vocals on some tracks and the truly generic "god machine"

Acid Bath - 4
Neurosis - 1

I guess I've always found Neurosis to be overrated, but I think Acid Bath wins here by a long shot. Love the vocals, love the riffs, love the variety. The John Wayne Gacy album cover is kind of funny as well

Acid Bath - 5
Neurosis - 1

But there is something in the Acid Bath album that grips me more, especially the songwriting. I think as a lyricist Dax Riggs is top notch. The vocals on the album are top notch, the vocal effects on a song like "The Bones of Baby Dolls" is amazing.

I feel like a traitor going against Melvins, but that Acid Bath album just blows me away every time I listen to it.

Weird with the album, I prefer the slower moments more then the heavier moments. This song blows me away every time I hear it. Never tire of it:

Bullhead is not a bad album, but its nothing special either and I only really like one song off the album "If I had an Exorcism" "Boris" always sounds promising but does drag at 8+ mins. I don't think Bullhead matches Houdini the following album in terms of quality at all.

Acid Bath -4
Melvins -4

There was a long discussion about them vs. Melvins. I think I'm reading it just fine. And now, we watch as Batlord backs up his argument with trolling.

The Batlord 03-17-2016 02:12 PM

That's not an Acid Bath thread. That's the Metal Wars thread. Dur.

JGuy Grungeman 03-17-2016 02:15 PM

But that's not what you said. You said the search didn't have anything to do with Acid Bath, not that their wasn't an acid bath thread. Dur.

So, were you searched specifically for forum titles? That's not what you said in the OP. That's two clarification errors. Obviously, the google search had something to do with Acid Bath, since there was a legit discussion about them that lasted a couple pages.

I listened to the whole thing, even though it never really got different from the first segment. *shrug*...whatever you or my late friend heard, I don't hear it. And for clarification, I had high esteem for his taste and agreed on a lot. But not this. I don't hate it, I just don't get it.

Also, it's interesting hearing the comparisons to The Melvins. Houdini is one of my ATF albums, but again if there's any similarities there I'm missing it.

You seriously suck at trolling. Go back to being autistic on some other thread.

JGuy Grungeman 03-17-2016 03:52 PM

That wasn't trolling. And I wasn't being autistic. Let's examine your post:

"I just did a search for this band out of curiosity, just to see what five million members had already said about this band, only to find out that "acid bath" yielded no results in a forum search."

Now you didn't clarify if the phrase in general appeared in posts or topics. Since you didn't clarify, should we assume both? I didn't because I usually look in posts since bands aren't limited to threads of a topic revolving around them, as proven in the metal wars thread. And I doubt I'm the only one that searches through posts only. And for how much longer you've been an internet user, you should know by now that not only do people search topics and/or posts, but that bands don't have to only be talked about in threads with their name in them. And I'm sure you do know. But you didn't even bother to clarify it to anyone, which is what raised the discussion about the truth to your post and the first reply showing you the google results.

Alright, so Acid Bath had the best ever horror lyrics...

(The only version of this find I can find of this song, and I don't know why the uploader decided to include all of these boring religious rants that weren't in the original song)

Hell yes, Bats. Acid Bath were from my home town. They were big there, but yea I've not found many people outside of MB or Louisiana that know about that old crew.

I enjoy Dax Riggs' solo stuff as well. Saw him live a couple years ago where I'm at.

Lot of nostalgia this thread is creating for me. :)

Mondo Bungle 05-10-2016 10:47 PM

I was surprised by the Dax Riggs cameo in that movie Parker
