Anticipated Metal Albums 2016

Well, there's a thread for this in general, but I'm not about to start obsessively trolling a thread that's probably about a bunch of indie queer albums.

So here's a thread for metal albums only. If you're looking forward to some metal album being released this year, then by god let it out here!

Janszoon 05-02-2016 04:43 PM

I have no idea what metal albums are coming out in 2016, but I'm looking forward to the good ones.

Me neither, which is why I made this thread. I love discovering new ****, but I'm as like to look in 1986 as I am 2016. Hopefully it's not just a bunch of pussy hipster metal.

Looking forward to the new album, also. I really like their stuff, one of the few newer bands I dig these days.

Yeah, Outer Isolation is one of my favourite metal albums of the 2010's, fantastic stuff.

Mondo Bungle 05-03-2016 04:21 PM

Black Future is hands down the best thrash metal album of the millenium

Maybe not, strictly speaking, a metal band, but I'm really looking forward to Nails' third album You Will Never Be One of Us, which is coming out in June.

Only recently heard their stuff and I dig it. One guy I know saw them live and said he hasn't seen so much blood on the kids up front since he saw Gwar years ago - the first few minutes into this video and the footage of the crowd is hilarious...

You know it's an awesome show when the crowd surfers have to jump off the corner of the stage because the entire front row is moshing.

I just saw them a couple weeks ago and they were amazing. Great stage presence too.

Jealous. There's literally no scene for metal/power-violence/grindcore around where I live so I haven't the pleasure of attending any "wild" concert, pretty disappointed.

I'm seriously jealous of you. I've never had the chance to see any kind of grind or PV band live, and Nails seems like they would be a complete experience of musical extremity.

Yeah, they were great. Misery Index also played that night and they were really good too.

MicShazam 05-18-2016 02:20 PM

Eths, Stam1na, Ihsahn, Madder Mortem, Arkona, Pharaoh: All bands I can't wait to grab new albums from! These bands have all either published a new one already, or teased that they are working on one.

Then there's Metallica. Lol.

The Batlord 05-18-2016 02:28 PM

Watch Metallica sneak up behind us with a bum**** of an amazing album that no one was expecting. I didn't even know they had a new one coming out. Still don't care.

Considering their newest song, "Lords of Summer" was by far their worst, most bloated piece of **** ever, i don't think I could care about the next one even if I wanted to. I mean, I care, but that's just because I enjoy watching people complain about things online :P

"Lords of Summer"? I say this as not only a non-homophobe, but an anti-homophobe. But seriously, there's really no other way to say this about the one time kings of metal, who set the standard by which all other metal bands should be judged, and I don't care...

"Lords of Summer"? Faggots.

MicShazam 05-19-2016 02:56 AM

Maybe I misheard it and it's really called Lords of Bummer, but I'm not sure that's better. Fitting, at least.

CharlieEngen 05-27-2016 08:15 PM

At this point I think Meshuggah is at the top of my list, but there are some great ones coming out soon as well. Gojira and Periphery are coming sooner than later!

Tristan_Geoff 05-27-2016 08:24 PM

Gojira!!!

DeadChannel 05-27-2016 08:24 PM

Nails - You Will Never be One of Us

It's gonna be super heavy. I am hype.
