Ok, then 40 minutes and 9 tracks. And they have to put a bit of distortion on Trujillo's bass and double his volume in the mix. And Hammett has to play fewer notes in his solos and remember that his solos were really cool back on Ride the Lightning.

Rule number one: no wah pedal from Kirk.
Rule number two: save the power ballads for your crappy solo album.
Rule number three: lyrics must be approved by someone over the age of 13.

An 80 minute Metallica album? It's simply not worth it.

Load, Reload, St. Anger, and Death Magnetic were all nearly 80 minutes long. The double album thing is just a dishonest gimmick.

I was thinking the same thing. Nothing really seems to be the motivation to prompt them to need to do a double album.

Dude, you think all those albums are worth 80 minutes of your time? There are some decent songs scattered but none of those albums as a whole are that good. I thought this was the general opinion on here. Either way, personally I find them tedious and dragged out for the sake of it. Each to their own though.

Lol. I was making a joke, man. I wasn't serious.

WTF are you talking about? I meant that a double album that's the same length as their single albums is bull****.

I'm actually assuming you're never serious.

Since a CD can hold almost 80 minutes and their new album is supposedly almost 80 minutes, it does seem weird that they want it spread across 2 discs. Maybe just to make it seem like more? You know, since we've been waiting for 8 years.

So the question becomes, when does the joke end and the seriousness begin?
