Are there any folk metal albums that don't have the ugly, screaming, growling vocals of black metal?

Not so much. The non-black metal stuff generally isn't anything for fans of folk folk. Maybe Falkenbach or something?

More Pagan (which may not appeal to your uber-Christian beliefs of course) than Folk Metal, but I was really impressed by this:

(There might be some growling somewhere in it, I can't remember, but if I recall properly mostly it's instrumental or a kind of low howling when the vocals kick in)

The answer is a resounding yes.

Most recent two records are my favorite but much less of a folk influence than the first three. Regardless, can't go wrong.

Half of Bergtatt by Ulver doesn't have black metal vocals, it might warm you up to them as well in the places they do show up.
