True...but Maiden were influencial as hell, and are argubly the most influencial metal group after Black Sabbath. They were a big influence on the thrash metal, progressive metal and power metal movements of the late 80s and early 90s, and they still play a big role in the modern death metal movement. They influenced metallica, pantera, megadeth and tool among many others, i can garantee you that every modern metal band has some maiden influence, maiden were one of the pioneers of the genre, if you dont like maiden, then more than likely you just dont like metal.

Don`t consider them metal?

They were one of the main bands in the early 80s to re establish it after punk almost killed it.

meh, i dunno, i mean technically they ARE metal, but i guess i just think of metal being something much heavier and the vocals being more agressive as opposed to bruce ****ensons ...em......"someone's strangling a cat" vocals

I'd say Metallica over Maiden.

Perhaps...but Metallica were Maiden influenced....Pantera, Megadeth, Queensryche, Dream Theater and Slayer are maiden influenced....metallica mostly only had influence on speed/thrash metal and some grindcore groups...Maiden has pretty much influenced every metal subgenre in some way.
