New Fear Factory Album

Just got the new album by Fear Factory. The album is called Archtype.
It is both heavy and melodic. They seem to have a few more slower songs then they previous album Digimortal. Cyberwaste, Bonescraper, Act of God, and Slave Labor are my favs so far. There is also a DVD that comes with it too. If you like metal, check out this album out.

Okay So I've Been Listening To This Band Called Fear Factory For A While Now But I've Been Wondering If Some Of U Guys Have Listened To Their Music And If U Have What Do U Think Of Them

"que Es Lo Que Ustedes Piensan De Este Grupo"

TheBig3 02-21-2005 02:49 PM

Someone bought me a CD once, the one they had Cars on, only I got the version without Cars on it (they rereleased it later).

It didn't get too many spins from me...

franscar 02-21-2005 02:51 PM

I quite liked Cyber Waste, god knows why, but other than that I don't think I've heard anything from them I thought was much cop.

How About Fear Factory

Wasnt sure if there was already a thread bout these guys...if so..i couldnt find anything...
I think Fear Factory are a great band... Concrete Or Soul Of A New Machine would have to be my fave albumn (s)
Anyone like em? They also were featured as apart of the movie Saw with their Bite The Hand That Feeds song...one of the most melodic..possibly the most...

Heres a few of my pics:

Archetype
Demanufacture
Obsolete
Cars (its great)
Drones
Invisible Wounds (Dark Bodies)
Concrete
Flesh Hold
Arise Above Oppression
Scumgrief
Scapegoat
Never End
Acres Of Skin
Deception
Resurrection
Timelessness
and a few ive obviusly forgotten.......

i think you could compare them to bands but they certainly have their own sound....im a big fan...one of the 1st bands i heard when i was 14ish...

SaTaNsChIlD666 07-17-2005 02:01 PM

Fear Factory

Fear Factory is my favorite band. I was wondering how others felt about them. Discuss

riseagainstrocks 05-02-2006 06:57 PM

I'm not a fan, the songs seem to repetitive from what I've heard.

Merkaba 05-02-2006 09:59 PM

Yeah not a big fan. Or not a fan at all. I never found anything special about them.

under 05-02-2006 10:25 PM

I agree with Merkabab I am not exactly the biggest fan of them.

Blain 05-03-2006 12:25 AM

I like a couple of songs that I've downloaded from them like "Bite The Hand tthat Bleeds" and "Cyberwaste"

Kripes 05-03-2006 07:10 AM

I've heard only a couple songs, and they are good, but they would seem to be generic for a whole album.

jackhammer 01-08-2010 04:33 PM

I find a lot of their songs hit and miss. I do love their sound overall with the emphasis on the guitar/ double bass drums riffs reminding me of Killing Joke at times but every album has it's fair share of turds. This is their recent release from a couple of months back and I'm not too keen:

I do think that despite their pilfering of other bands, they are always recognisable in metal which is no mean feat with all the copycat bands around:

duga 01-08-2010 05:08 PM

i ripped a couple of their albums to my ipod once and never really played past the first song. nothing really caught my attention...

Dieselboy 01-08-2010 05:49 PM

I have Obsolete and used to listen to it a decent amount. Sometimes I could listen to the whole thing, sometimes I'd just get sorta tired of it mid CD and switch though. Edgecrusher is a freakin siiick song though, even still.

I will say that their Hatefiles compilation was and probably still is one of the coolest albums I have. A few unreleased songs, some remix's of their tunes, and an awesome cover of Gary Nuemen's Cars. As the disc gets near the end, some of the songs and remix's are very gabber sounding in fact, which was absolutely the sh*t at the time I first got it. I'm probably gonna pop this on later actually. :thumb:

Any thoughts on the new release Mechanize? Just listening now and it's solid enough but nothing new and kinda tiresome. I was hoping for a little more Electronica in their sound.

NSW 04-21-2010 04:45 PM

You gotta link Lee? Sounds worth a listen....

i only heard it once a few weeks ago but my initial impression was that it was their best release since Demanufacture - it finally sounded like a worthwhile follow-up to that classic.

the songs are far more aggressive and the watered down cyber-mall metal is nowhere to be found. i thought it was a fantastic return to form after a few less than stellar releases.

LoathsomePete 04-21-2010 05:25 PM

I grabbed it on Monday and the Gene Hoglan's drumming is awesome as always. Overall I really enjoyed the album, it was abrasive yet still had melodic elements to it but without sounding formalized like a lot of other bands.

crash_override 04-21-2010 10:00 PM

Listened to half the album today. It seems pretty good so far.

It's heavier than I expected. It's thrashy, yet clean and crunchy. I will probably listen to it again.

jycegrcia 04-26-2010 06:43 AM

Few days ago only I heard archtype album and I found it amazing. This album is so fast and brutal. This album really impressed me. Fear Factory had a big part in their design, whether they intended it or not. Archetype basically says "we are what you are destined to become".Now looking forward to listen more songs of Fear Factory.

Oxidizer 01-03-2013 01:36 PM

Now the new album is "The Industrialist" and since I got hyped about Fear Factory once again (I think they are one of my favourite bands of all time) I decided to finally give it a shot. It's such a huge disappointment. I realize that this band is sometimes critiqued for being repetitve, but I considered this a good thing in their case because for me this repetitiveness was big enough to leave me more or less (but still) content and with a sense of listening to FF and small enough to keep the stuff fresh. "Mechanize" was absolutely brilliant. "The Industrialist" sounds like poorly recycled garbage.

Forward To Death 01-03-2013 10:09 PM

I can't get used to that drum machine, there's a couple decent singles though. I only really liked their first two albums and Mechanize was alright, so I'm not really all that disappointed.

LoathsomePete 01-04-2013 01:08 AM

Oh yeah... that happened. Well I guess my opinion on it doesn't really need much explaining. Definitely one of the more disappointing albums of 2012 for me.
