Default British Steel vs. Ace of Spades?

Which metal classic from 1980 do you like better?

I think overall as a band with their discography Priest easily trumps Motorhead, but between these two particular albums AOS easily trumps British Steel. I just don't think BS is that good (nor it is bad at all), while AOS is that good.

Damn.

I have to listen to both of them. I know a bunch of the songs, but have yet to listen to either in their entirety.

British Steel, rather comfortably. More songwriting variety. And it doesn't blow its load after the first track ends. And there's no songs about underage girls.

I would concur. I know Ace of Spades for a longer time, but I would have to agree that after the title track there's not a whole lot to consider. Maybe "(We are) The Road Crew" but other than that kind of really all filler, no killer. Whereas British Steel has at least three classics, and even the other songs are pretty killer too. So while I like Motorhead, Priest beat them into a small cube on this album.

Lemmy likes to write those songs. I have the Bastards album. Don't let daddy kiss me is a song I wouldn't expect to hear from Motorhead. Lemmy apparently offered it up to Joan Jett.

Ace of Spades album has more tracks I want to revisit. It's not like I'm rotating their entire discographies on a regular basis.... if I'm in a Judas Priest mood, it will be Screaming for Vengeance, not British Steel. But if I'm gonna listen to Motorhead, it will definitely be Ace of Spades.
