Skronk

Post skronk

skronk is also known as Dissonant Death Metal

it's really dense and almost complete noise but surprisingly the technicality in the genre is found in it's atonal approach and complicated structures

stuff like gorguts or portal

artificial brain

other bands

Pretty kewl

do you have a good entry-level skronk album to recommend?

Norg 09-15-2023 08:37 PM

I thought they were djent but don't ask me

Interesting. I've only ever heard the word "skronk" used to refer to noise rock and maybe occasionally in mathcore, never heard it used to describe any kind of death metal. I've heard that Gorguts record but honestly that level of dissonant chaotic stuff just kind of exhausts me these days.

And Meshuggah are definitely considered the progenitors of djent (or rather, prodjentitors).

as for entry level, it's probably one of the hardest genres to get into personally but here's some more o' that stuff
