The Rolling Stones

I think one of my favorite things about the Stones is that they're still going. They put out a single back in 2012 called Doom and Gloom which was every bit as good as their heyday material. Well, maybe not quite that good, but it was a pretty awesome jam.

Satisfaction might be my favorite song of all time. I'm not going to say that it created hard rock, but it did get the ball rolling more than any other single piece of music.

That's actually my least favourite thing. They have become a joke.

I've seen them live twice in the 80's and I felyt it was time for them to retire. They were known as a dinosaur band then. Who knew they would be going 30 years later.

But yeah, they're old as hell now. Die-hards are glad they're still around but some of us are side-glancing at Keith Richards wondering if he's still alive or died 40 years ago and he's the only real zombie that's ever existed.

I know this dude who's about twice my age and he's completely obsessed with the Stones. I trust him when he says that they kick ass on stage.

I quite like the fact that at one time they covered numerous songs that you would not normally associate them playing. Fortune Teller, Posion Ivy, and numerous others. They were not cool all their musical lives. They morfed into this ultra cool band in my opinion between Jumping Jack Flash, Honky Tonk Woman and then through Sticky Fingers, Let It Bleed, Beggars Banquet and Exile the band just kept sounding more interesting and cooler.

Also another song which never got off the ground pardon the pun was "Who's Driving Your Plane". That has to be one of the best songs they have ever done and never got any air play! Even though they chose it to be a "B-side " I think it is just as good as quite a few of their hits!
