in your opinion.

:banghead: CHRIST, have you ever heard of a factual opinion? We can PROVE the bands listed are better then KISS.
|
Quote:
Yes and since I'm just so cool my opinion is fact. :D |
Well it would be your opinion that there are no bands that were more influential than KISS. Howcome your opinion is fact, but our opinion is opinion?
|
KISS is teh suxzorz

KISS is teh suxzorz

Im not saying KISS is the greatest band.
One can be a crappy band and be extremely influential - look at NIRVANA. I'm talking influence, and your talking something else. |
Your opinion isn't fact. Neither is ours, ours is just a lot closer to it :)

we're not talking talent though.

What kind of influence did KISS have? What can be attributed to them? Glam Rock? That is something to be proud of

Nirvana >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> KISS I shouldnt have to explain it, but i will if you want, KISS makes dumb music for dumb people who like to get drunk at partys and strip naked and screw anything that walks. While Nirvana not only spent time on writing actual music rather than being more concerned with how many women they were going to sleep with but they also had great lyrics, some very beautiful melodies and and they could write songs that really stuck a chord with people...Hell, i'll even go out on a limb and say they are more skilled musicians, though that isnt saying much. |

They were all around the same time, give or take a few years.

Bollocks
Kiss were still some hippy band in 72 |
KISS took things these bands were doing and magnified it and made way more money doing it.
over 30 years later, they win. |

Glam rock was around long before KISS....David Bowie, Alice Cooper, T. Rex, Iggy Pop & The Stooges, etc, you name it. They are a big influence on glam metal however, thats right, if it werent for KISS, we would never have had.... http://www.absolute-motleycrue.com/g.../picture_1.jpg Thank god for KISS and all the amazing bands they influenced. |

Dude, you are so arrgogant. KISS was not some kind of band with a deep lasting impact. They made mindless music to get drunk to. They were more popular for their performances than for the actual music. |
its becoming painfully obvious to me Boo Boo that your idea of good music starts with Nirvana and ends up somewhere with Green Day.

good. KISS music makes me want to get drunk and get laid. Dream Theater makes me want to wear a Cardigan turtle-neck sweater and read a book. I'll take KISS. |
WHO ARE YOU TO TALK? Your idea of good music is KISS. That is very very sad.
EDIT: Dream Theater suck too. |
OWNED!
damn capslock censor =( |
KISS is just one band of many. But few come close to touching their accomplishments.

Take Jet for example, they may be a fun likable band, but it dosent make them better than say The Flaming Lips, now does it? |

Yeah, good fun happy music indeed. |
Just because a band makes a 'fun' song, doesn't qualify them as the most influential band of the seventies. And it isn't that they influenced, its who they influenced.
KISS ----> Uninspired Glam Metal Television --------> Art Punk |
well, its not like NIRVANA that kiss each other onstage, or wear a dress, LOL
