No it's not man because none of those albums debuted in the top 200 none of them Iron Maiden album reached #4 but not in 1980 dude. you think just because a album comes out and records are there you think that is the year that they peaked? hell no Iron maiden albums did'nt peak untill 82. I guarantee you anything that i am right. all these bands did not peak between any of those years. Give Me one source where it says that A Album Debuted at that position. NOt that a band's debute album reached a peak position very big difference. all those bands of the new wave of british heavy metal did not go gold untill later years and then platinum i guarantee you anything. As a matter of fact Iron maiden was barely touring with Judas Priest.

Also, how in the hell did punk rock hurt metal?.... It f*cking HELPED metal, many late 70s/80s metal bands had noticable punk influences.... That includes Iron Maiden, Slayer and Guns N Roses.

...It's June and there's a blizzard in Metalyear's post. Huh, whaddya know.

Anyway. I haven't exactly listened to much of AC/DC or KISS, but the songs I've heard were both well-done. I think I have to give the edge - right now - to KISS, just because I've heard more of their music.

That and I did see them live in concert last September... heh, fifth row center. The show was okay - I seem to remember the on-stage stuff more than the songs themselves, which fits with the argument about KISS being more show than song.

Kiss kills ac/dc all around the block...
 

Angus betterthan Ace??? Are u serious???? Angus plays the most basic riffs ive ever heard & has nowhere near the blazing solos Ace has. Ace walks up & down angus. As far as ur vocals goes it should be straight up either Paul against Bon or Brian not including Gene or Ace, so the edge clearly goes to Paul by miles. Drums totally agree & Bass. Songwriting , u must not be very familiar with Kiss' material or u would know Kiss have many songs that arent about women. Their lyrics are hands down again miles ahead of ac/dc. The only reason people hate Kiss & refuse to give them the props they deserve is because they took their fame to heights no other band including ac/dc could. And the get this "sellout" label which is utter bullocks. All bands sell merchandise, all bands wanna be rich, all bands wanna be famous bottom line..... They just cant top Kiss is why people hate. And Kiss does what they wants how they want & get away with it pure & simple ....

You`re probably the only person on the whole forum that thinks Kiss superior to AC/DC.

The vast majority of Kiss`s discography is very forgettable, with the exception of the "Destroyer" album and a couple of their early songs like "Strutter"

I have a strong dislike for both bands, but I suppose AC/DC is the least bad.
