Jim Gaven
So, some of you have had a problem in the past couple days with my exciting find of a singer/songwriter in Jim Gaven. Maybe i should start over by saying that i really enjoy his stuff, and i'm offering it up to anyone else who wants to check it out. He has multiple sites, and here are some of them: www.purevolume.com/jimgaven, www.soundclick.com/bands/2/jimgaven.htm, www.jimgaven.com, www.mp3.com.au/jimgaven. Mind you, i've read that all of his songs are recorded on either his 4 track or computer at home, except for one, which is "On Your Way (To Unhappiness)". Please check him out, i really like this guy, and a lot of people in his and my hometown do as well. Word around Hamilton is that he is even gonna sign to a label by the end of the summer, so he's gonna make it. I know it.
Sincerely, Jamie |

Why do you insist that i'm that guy, there's no way in hell i could even come close to being that guy. First off, i'm a girl, so that's the first distinction between me and him. THe other is that i have no musical talent whatsoever. I can't write anything, nevermind songs. This is getting to be a little ridiculous.

Because thats generally what we get around here. Shameless nobody's promoting, or more appriatley "whoring" their music around our boards because its free and no one else will publish or review any of their stuff.
If you are one of the aforementioned shameless nobody's please remove yourself from my sight. If not then welcome to MusicBanter have a jolly old time.

So are there any responses on what you think this kid sounds like? I'm interested to hear what people have to say about his songwriting and guitar chops. To me, his lyrics are better than what he can accomplish on guitar. Check his lyrics out on www.jimgaven.com/lyrics.html and get back here with responses. Thanks.
