We need a classic rock or CR/prog. forum very badly, and this thread alone is proof. 4 pages of bull**** and nobody has discussed cream yet other than that they suck. And adidass I'm not sure how well you can read, but if you read my original post I was asking if there are any FANS, not haters of cream. This goes to you bungalow bill, if you think they suck keep it to yourself, you're obviously not a fan. Back on topic, I left out a couple of favorites: I'm so glad and Spoonful...

Definetely, how can you go wrong with an album with:
-White room
-Sitting on top of the world
-Politician
-Born under a bad sign
-Crossroads
-Spoonful, and Toad?

White room has some awesome work with the wah pedal. White room from 4:00 to the end is pure musical ecstasy...

Yeah clapton is a great guitarist. He's really well rounded, he can play the **** outta the guitar when he wants to, and he's awesome with the wah pedal. Cream has 3 awesome musicians, and it's sweet that they still tour.

At our school we have these meetings with the entire school in the morning. Our annoying hall-monitor guy(i dont really know his job) decided to make morning meeting interesting one day by asking a question and whoever got it right got free lunch. Anyways his question was "What band, whose guitarist is Eric Clapton, is famous for the song 'in the white room?'" Anyways the songs name is 'white room' so the 'in the' so I raised my hand to correct him and he called instead on some retard in my homeroom who said "Cream." I then just gave up on correcting him and let him live in his ignorant, yet blissful word of mistaken Cream knowledge.

There was no point in that story except it involves Cream and I could vent about the majority of my school's ignorance of music.

Only two replies? Maybe I should have made a thread about some ****ty band, like Seether. That would have gotten a lot of attention.

Original Cream LP prices?

I recently found 4 original Cream LP's when helping to clear out my parent's loft and was wondering about how much they'd go for, I tried searching on google but the results were mixed coming up with wildly varying prices for each one.

The LPs are Disraeli Gears, Goodbye,Fresh Cream and Wheels of Fire.

Thanks for any help:)

I would keep them personally unless you are dying for cash.

clockworkmice 02-09-2009 01:58 PM

I plan to, I was just curious really :p:

Have you checked the serial numbers to make sure they are really originals and not re-issues? That can effect the price a lot.

clockworkmice 02-09-2009 02:27 PM

Where would I find the original serial numbers exactly, for example the number I have on Disraeli Gears is 594 003, but where would I find out whether that's the original? All I have to go by is that according to the vinyl it was made the same date the album was released. (1967)

Unfortunately I don't know the answer to that one. I'm not much of a vinyl collector myself, but my dad is huge into it which is why I know it's a big deal. I know they put out these big thick books that you can look use to look them up by number, I'm not sure if there's a similar resource online or not. Another thing to pay attention to when you look up the price is whether the album was released as both stereo and mono or not and, if so, which version you have. That can make a difference in price as well.
