Slave To The Grind was OK, when compared to other acts of the day, I agree..they were better when they rocked out, verses the ballads.

I just find him to be the least talented of the three vocalist personally.
To be the least talented of those three is hardly cause for shame! As for how these bands rate:

1 year ago I would`ve said:
Soundgarden> STP> Pearl Jam

Now its:
Pearl Jam> Soundgarden> STP

Saying that though, I love Velvet Revolver with their STP meets 1970`s Cheap Trick sound and those 1970`s style lyrics are to die for!

I f-ing hate Sour Girl.

The problem with Chris Cornell is that he smoked extensively which really messed with his vocals.

I respect Pearl Jam for never really compromising their sound, integrity, or vision to sell to the masses. Backspacer has me worried though.

I can agree with that, 3rd place in that group is still very worthy. I did like CORE, I just kind of grew away from STP with the album that had Vaseline on it.

STP's best album was Purple, and their most interesting was Tiny Music. (an underrated album I must say)

Tiny Music, meh... boring. Plus some of the worst songwriting I have heard. That album is dud.

But when people accuse STP of just being a grunge rip off band, you can point them to songs like "And So I Know" and say "I've never seen Bush or Silverchair make a song like that."
