Black Keys are great but I strongly suggest revisiting some of the older stuff. One of my favorite blues albums of all time is John Mayall's bluesbreakers featuring Eric Clapton. It is Eric in his prime, between yardbirds and cream where he still had something to prove. For newer stuff, the White Stripes have some very bluesy songs. Check them out too

Also The Alvin Lee Band is badass.

Stevie Ray Vaughan is (in my opinion) the best blues artist there is.

You could also add the Blues Brothers to that list, though they bordered more on soul than blues.

I was about to castigate MB in general for talking about blues rock without mentioning Ten Years After. Luckily for you guys, Terrible Lizard has redeemed you all by mentioning The Alvin Lee Band, so you have collectively won a reprieve.

Not as well known as Ten Years After, Chicken Shack deserve a place in this thread too:-



I saw Stan Webb playing in a pub that was only a couple of miles from his birthplace in south London. That night he played long and hard, despite having a bandage on his wrist, rather grubbier than the one he wears in this clip - so kudos to Stan Webb, unglamorous but devoted blues afficionado. (Plus kudos on being a Londoner of course, but that goes without saying.)
