Battle of the Bands Classic Rock/Prog/Psychedelic edition. NOMINATIONS
 

Similar to Ethans best artist thing, but for the genres listed above.

The limitations are:

1. Have to have released an album before 1980.
2. 5 bands/artists will be excluded: The Beatles, Bob Dylan, The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd; this is to stop this being a one sided competition, and to educate, or promote more less well known bands.

The nominations and seeding procedure will be as follows:

Each member may nominate 10 new bands, if a band has already be nominated they may add extra support to other nominated bands to increase their chances in seeding. There is no limit to this. If you nominate another band that is already nominated it will count as one more vote of support.

For the seeding, each band will be put into one of 5 tiers, the most nominated bands will be in the first and so on.

Round one will comprise of many polls of 5 bands, each poll will run for 2 days simultaneously with 4 other polls. The bands chosen for each poll will be one from each tier.

A note on “folk artists” while Bob Dylan has been excluded as with the other 4 bands straightforward folk artists such as Nick Drake won’t be able to be nominated. To be nominated they have to be generally considered, prog, psych or classic rock, many often consider Dylan to be one of the Classic Rock artists because of his influence on the genre and some albums being very much of the sound.

NOTE:
More Rules Will Be Posted About the Group Stages once we reach it, main rules will be:
5 bands per group, single choice poll, two bands progress, 5 tier seeding process, and the number of nominated bands will be limited to a multiple of 5 or the highest supported groups will automatically get to round 2 if we have an uneven number.

2nd: The Led Zeppelin Bracket
3rd: The Pink Floyd Bracket
4th: The Beatles Bracket
5th: The Ethan Smith is Rolled and Stoned Bracket

I suggest you call the four brackets The Dylan, Zeppelin,Beatles and Pink Floyd brackets
