Heat Twenty Five: Battle of the Bands
The Allman Brothers:
These guys truly are the bomb. Mountain Ash Band: Allman Brothers will progress regardless, so vote for these guys, and if you haven’t heard em ask for an up. The Hermit is one of the great forgotten folk albums. Titus Groan: Released an awesome self titled prog album, but like so many bands simply vanished. Scott Walker: With inventive album titles like, Scott, Scott 2, Scott 3 and Scott 4 this guy must have some truly inventive music. But I wouldn’t know, never heard em. Argent: From the former Zombies Member Rod Argent, these guys made some pretty cool stuff. Check out their Debut and All Together Now. |
Has to be Scott Walker shirley

Mountain Ash Band. Never could get into Argent and Allman Brothers? Meh.
|
This is a dark day, a very dark day
|
It's a very bright day that a band with less than 70 last.fm listeners is beating all these bands who are all at least 100 to 100,000 times bigger than them.

That's what everyone says. Doesn't hold my attention at all and i can't stand his later voice at all.

I would be shocked if everyone knew who Scott Walker was, we'll change that :thumb: As for the voice arguement, Bob Dylan's voice in his later work is not as good as it was in his prime, no reason to shun Bob Dylan is it? Age has that effect on the throat, its unavoidable unless you're Tom Jones. The list of people who share my view and who have been influenced by Walker is in itself a good indication of what regard Walker is held. People like David Bowie, Richard Hawley, Johnny Marr, Echo and The Bunnymen and Thom Yorke. I find the dismissal of Scott Walker mildly annoying, as Scott 1, 2, 3 and 4 are immense albums, with biting lyrics, beautiful arrangements and well crafted tracks. Not only that but his work with the Walker Brother's is epic too. Its a travesty that he's not making the second round, a result which will result in me spending a good few hours this week sitting in a darkened room just rocking back and forth, while listening to "The Sun Ain't Gonna Shine Anymore", whilst at the same time toying with the idea of just smearing twiglet crumbs into my eyes. |
I'd be surprised if he didn't go through as well to be honest, obviously no-one in the outside world i've met know who he is but i think internet wise i'm the only person i know who has listened and hasn't liked.
I'll admit he beats the Allman Brothers. There you go. |
scott walker duh

C'mon, 3 more votes for Walker,
|
Allman Brothers and the wonderful Mountain Ash Band progress.
