Round 2 Heat Five: Battle of the Bands

This one is between

David Bowie
Talking Heads
Caravan
Magma
The Pentangle

With Caravan given a second lease of life due to double Rush nominations they don't seem to be coming in here strong, while Magma has a rather large following here, for the progheads I think we should unite to give Magma the chance alongside Bowie.

Piss Me Off 01-28-2009 08:29 AM

The obvious one. Sorry.

Just in case this Heat gets silly, I've voted for Bowie just to make sure.

Guybrush 01-28-2009 12:31 PM

.. Stupid poll had to have both Bowie and Caravan .. :(

This is a decision I never thought I'd have to take.
David Bowie or Talking Heads. The heart said one and the head another.

Agonising, but I kept on coming back to Byrne

jackhammer 01-28-2009 01:21 PM

David Bowie although I like them all on that list. I need some more Magma albums though :D

right-track 01-28-2009 01:31 PM

I can't believe you just neutralised my Heads vote...and you don't even like Bowie. :(

Only 4 stars for Low???

I rest my case!

jackhammer 01-28-2009 01:39 PM

Thats because Station To Station and Heroes are better :p: 1.Outside is damn amazing too.

Nah you are just a meek follower of what every Bowie fan says :D Never follow the crowd! To be truthful it's his glam rock era that I like the least.

Check out the Buddha Of Suburbia soundtrack if you like those - a real hidden gem in his back-catalogue. Let me know if you need a link.

Anyway, really tough call between Bowie and Byrne for me as well. I did go for the Heads though - I don't think they ever did a bad album (unlike Bowie).

You only just decided to do that now? :D

Pity vote for Caravan... they have the coolest name anyways.

Since you all love Bowie, where should I start?

Molecules 01-29-2009 05:02 AM

For the glam stuff, Ziggy Stardust. For the later electro stuff Low all though Station To Station does deserve its credit. And dance wise Let's Dance is brilliant despite what anyone says :D

fuck yes

''If you say run, I'll run with you
If you say hide, we'll hide
Because my love for you
Would break my heart in two
If you should fall
Into my arms
And tremble like a flower''

haha

but then again you're looking at a guy that likes the 'Tonight' album. I'll just be gibbering in the corner...

It has Loving The Alien, you're forgiven.
