"Stoner songs" are a completely different thing than Stoner rock.

I think you missed the point, this is about the music, not about the names of the songs.

Well, your right, I shouldn't had Bob Dylan down as Stoner Rock, Like a Rolling Stone by Bob is more of a Stoner-Folk-Rock Song anyway.

Third Rock from the Sun could go either way as Stoner Rock or Space Rock because it's about space and a stone.

Dr_Rez 04-30-2009 10:40 PM

I think you still dont understand.

Stoner rock and space rock are genres with artists like Monster Magnet and Kyuss in the first and bands like Hawkwind and Ozric Tentacles in the latter.

Comus 05-01-2009 06:21 AM

Yeah, exactly, it's all about how it sounds, not that the lyrical content includes "stone" or "space".
