The Creation

If there is already a thread on these guys just merge them, i couldnt be arsed with sifting through 250+ pages.

It's one of musics great mysteries, why are The Creation not a household name? IMO they were better than The Who and The Yardbirds, yet after one excellent album they evaoprated into obscurity whilst inferior bands like The Move went on to acheive success.

Who's with me? And what about We Are Paintermen? Fans?

They were pretty good for what they were but better than The Who and The Yardbirds?

Not a chance.

I genuinely think they were. I've never been overly enamoured with The Who anyway and i'd take We Are The Paintermen over Roger The Engineer... though i do actually like that album.

I downloaded We are Paintermen a few months back and honestly was a bit disappointed. I need to play it a few more times but other stuff keeps taking precedence.

I'll check out The Creation. Do you recommend any specific albums?

The Creation were one of those should have beens, I'll give you that, but I dont think they were better than The Who or The Yardbirds, depends what you look for I suppose. That doesnt knock them as a band though, because I do agree they should be better thought of nowadays, but there's a long list of British moddish bands you could say that about as well.

They were probably one of those bands who were absolutely stunning live, up there with the best of them, but failed to translate it across in the studio, I get that impression from listening to them anyway.

But best song for me, How Does It Feel to Feel, brilliant stuff.
