I know this is slightly off subject......ish,

I've happened to come across some of the greatest musicians, songwriters etc. who we've never heard of. It just hasn't happened for them, they've got the talent, but were never in the right place at the right time with the right person watching/listening.

Lets not forget the Beatles were turned down by Decca in 1962, none of the other lables were bothered, before a certain producer at EMI heard something that no one else was hearing. All of a sudden they ticked all of the above boxes and they had "the right person watching/listening", without George Martin (the 5th Beatle), would we still have all that we have today. The man knew how to get out what was inside each of them. So Kudos to him.

But to answer the original question; it would have to be George Harrison, for no other reason than he floated my boat.

They didn't really care about fame, or success. They were both depressed about this lack privacy with The Beatles and Beatlemania. They didn't understand what the hell they were supposed to do with these fans, they would've loved just doing music for the sake of it, and just because they loved doing it.

And I know they made great music, that's why they're my favorites. -_-

George seemed like the one who was the least arrogant or a prick. He was my favourite musically and as a person.

I like John Lennon's solo stuff better than the other's post Beatles stuff. But when it comes to what they did together I like Paul. I must say though that Ringo is ass.

I certainly respect George the most, and he also seems like the most well-spoken. (Judging, for example, from this interview.)

gotta go wit ringo cause i admire him and of course he's a drummer. hes pretty funny, i watched a documentary where he made a funny joke bout making a piano sounding like a guitar

You gotta respect Paul even though he's slowly killin' the legend! haha
But, I'd say John ... I like his songs the best and I think he pushed Paul and helped make him who he is.

The there reasons you named for liking him seem lacking. 1. Because you admire him, 2. because of the instrument he played, and 3. because he made a funny joke. I do not mean to seem like an ass, but none of the three things you stated have anything to do with skill, originality, musicianship, or creativity. If you opinion of what makes a musician good, based on their joke telling ability and what instrument they specifically play, over how well they play, how creatively they play, and how innovative they are as a song writer, than I can not take your opinion very seriously at all.

As Beatles, I think "Something" is one of the finest pieces of song writing there is in the history of music. So, George has my vote with John. Paul had some nice little ditties but John's was so starkly different. He wasn't trying to write for commercial success. Ringo has a few. George though with the few he wrote were truly incredible. Wasn't it Sinatra who said "Something" was the best Lennon/McCartney composition? That must have been a real honor to have the Chairman of the Board to screw up and consider George's writing just as good as the main songwriters.

Solo-wise, nothing brings me to tears like a good George Harrison song. "Be Here Now" from "Spirits In The Material World" is absolutely heartbreaking. Besides that, I love the musicians both he and John used on their solo endeavors. Jim Keltner (who is such a warm soul), Klaus Voorman's signature bass sound, etc. I love John's solo work too. I'm just a little creeped out by Yoko.

I love Paul. Perhaps John was the more sophisticated songwriter, but Paul was a superior musician and I find him so damn charming! I guess I could argue any of them because there isn't a Beatle that I dislike, but I'm not going to play devil's advocate. My favorite is Paul.
