I'd hear David Bowie like twice a day. Mostly Changes.

My anecdotals>>>yours

Anectodal (anəkˈdōdl)
adj.
(of an account) not necessarily true or reliable, because based on personal accounts rather than facts or research.

And after reseach of places putting Bowie in their top ten classic rock artists lists, marking Bowie and Glenn Frey's deaths in a classic rock article, and one website literally nicknaming David Bowie the "lord of classic rock," I don't think that means he's modern oinstrumental hip hop.

Nirvana is classic rock?

I set the rules out in the beginning.

I'm defining classic rock as any notable commercially successful rock band from the 60's. 70's, 80's or 90's. As for radio play on a classic rock stations, in Canada, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Oasis ect, all those 90's bands now get heavy play on the classic rock station.

As for The Cure, the Smiths & the Sex Pistols, they sold millions of records, and topped the pop charts during their time. I'm not taking a rigid view of classic rock because the list is far more interesting when you have a big tent.

If you want to change your votes go ahead, I'll tally up tonight.

LOL. I might concede that he's classic rock, but he is not the lord of it. I'd give crown that to Led Zeppelin.

The debut and Presence. IV gets old, a lot of the folkier songs sound like filler.

JGuy Grungeman 08-09-2016 02:52 PM

Presence? Never seen that on top before.

LZ1V
LZ1
LZ3

LZ2

And there's all of their studio works, live albums and 7 bootlegs in that list. Ottawa Sunshine, Pure Blues (later Mudslide), Royal Albert Hall, Florida Sunshine,. Texas Pop Festival, Ballcrusher, Blueberry Hill.

I'll compare an apple to a table if I need to. Basically, if you want to compare two different things, just determine which is better at what it does. Is Zombies a better psychedelic pop band that Pink Floyd is an art rock band? In the event of comparing an apple to a table, one should decide on the overall quality of an apple deciding on (as examples) taste, appearance, and texture. Then decide on the quality of the table by sturdiness, appearance, and lack of scratches and wear. Is the apple a better apple than the table is a table? What's the better ITEM is the question.

See how even the most outlandish comparisons can be madeJudging two unrelated bands is easy-peasy lemon squeezy compared to comparing an two different items like an apple to a table, but it can be done.
