Yeah, that second clip really gets me; the affection between the singers, the audience spanning three generations all going crazy, the uncredited contribution of Keith Richards... if I had been there I would've been asking people for a Kleenex for sure.
PS: thanks for the source, rubber soul: yes, Yoko does some weird singing when they do Memphis Tenessee! |

As if a bunch of right wing boomers would rule against Led Zeppelin.

Meh then I'd have to listen to the album, I haven't done so in ages for a reason
I mean maybe, it should be pretty funny to revisit my Zep period |

 I do have some very distinct music periods where I predominantly obsess over one band/artist. Periods where I obsess over things in general. You can imagine what my Buffy the Vampire Slayer period was like
who am I kidding though, I love ranking things. It doesn't help that it's IV though, my Zep album ranking says enough: III - I - Houses of the Holy - II - Physical Graffiti - IV - In Through the Out Door - Presence |

Damn. That one's my favorite. III is up there for me as well - but II is probably better. Your ranking of In Through the Out Door is just about right though. |
Albums:
1. Led Zeppelin III-10 2. Led Zeppelin IV-9,5 3. Led Zeppelin II-9 4. Led Zeppelin I-9 Ok, now the ones that I don't really like 5. Physical Graffiti-7 6. In Through The Out Door-5 7. Presence-4 8. Houses Of The Holy-4 Best songs: 1. Since I've Been Lovin You-10 2. Stairway To Heaven-10 You British and American people are lucky to have radio stations that overplay it, in Spain this doesn't happen. 3. Dazed And Confused-9.5 4. Rock N' Roll-9,5 5. Heartbreaker-9.5 6. Kasmir-9 7. Thank you-9 8. Tangerine-8,5 (the chorus sounds strange) 9. Black Dog-8,5 10. Communication Breakdown-8 11. Babe I'm Gonna Leave You-8 12. Good Times Bad Times-7,5 (the solo could have been more powerful) 13. Whole Lotta Love-7,5 (2 minutes of random noises? No thanks) 14. All My Love-7 (very good song but doesn't sound like Led Zeppelin) 15. Ramble On-7 (cool) 16. Immigrant Song-6,5 (Spanish radio stations overplay this song soooo much!) 17. Going To California-6,5 (see above) 18. Moby Dick-6 (cool riff+ long drum solo, wouldn't listen to it all day) These are the ones that I like a lot, the rest of their songs are sort of OK, but they also have some terrible ones, like the cover of You Shook Me (what the hell is Plant doing at the end of the song?) |

Dread Zeppelin - When the Levee Breaks |
|
I was never much of a Zeppelin fan, and because of that I’ve often had to hear a lot of Carl from my two best friends (who are, well, Zeppelin fanatics)
I remember when I once told them my favourite Zeppelin song was „All of my love” And the whole conversation looked a bit like: „Heresy! Blasphemy! Hang him!” I mean, you know, I loved Stairway to Heaven when I was like 12 And a couple of others But then I quickly here tired of them And started to think of them as this sort of One Trick Pony band There’s only as much as I can listen to great musicians playing mediocre songs And then, about a year ago, my father showed me their „reggae” tune (D’yer Mak’er), and I instantly loved the track But I didn’t go out to listen to more tracks and change my mind And just last week I found this lovely piece of music: I was casualy listening to one of my Beatles playlists And I forgot to put it in loop And so Spotify started recomending me tracks based on the playlist So, this track comes in, and I’m like „wow, what a great song, the hell is this?” And then the singer started singing, and I was like „Damn, the guy sings an awful lot like Robert Plant” So I checked what was it, and here I am. I’m still not a Zeppelin fan, but damn, sometimes they get it right |

Babe Im gonna leave you is my favorite song by them

Knebworth is HUGE!
Zep drew over 100K both times they played it in 1979. Did ya know it's basically someone's back yard? https://www.knebworthhouse.com/ |
