on the morning of September 7th, he woke up and ate breakfast and then took an overdose of anti-alchohol addiction pills i think

New-England-Clam-Chodah 09-06-2005 08:17 PM

I though it was anti-seizure medication

boris jawaka 09-06-2005 08:22 PM

im pretty sure it was something to combat his alchohol addiction but i may be wrong

ill try to dig out my "maximum r&b" book by richard barnes - i remeber a good moon story in it:

it was keith moons birtday in 1967 and the Who were on tour in america so they hired a function centre in a holiday inn hotel. At 11.30, the manager of the hotel came in and told them to wrap up the party. He came back at 5 to 12 adn the party was still going strong. He threatened to call the police and then keith moon chucked a cake in his face. this resulted in the WHo being banned from all holiday inns in america.

Yes, he was a great drummer, and a innovative and highly influencial one, Along with Ginger Baker he was one of the first rock drummers to use the double bass drum, his radical drumming style was very influencial...He will never be forgotton, so lets pay tribute to the man by drinking a round of beers, it's on me, cheers.

keith loved a beer, and there is another story of how he was at his local pub and it was really busy and he couldnt get served, so he stripped off and lay down along the bar, he then, getting the attention of the barman, ordered his drinks
