Why I listen to music? Honestly I have no better reason other than I just love music as an art form. I liked it as a kid and my appreciation of it has done nothing but increased over the years.

This for sure, as well as Minutemen, Husker Du and maybe the Meat Puppets as well. Although an older band, you'll probably love the Clash also as they're a major influence on what you already listen...
