I play guitar/bass/drums in various bans (I won't spam don't worry ;)) and have a love of music.

I play guitar and drums.
I think you would gain immensely from your piano playing. The joy of playing guitar is the lack of rules compared to other instruments. I learnt all the notes, scales etc...

My guitar of choice is a Fender Standard Strat (with some new pickups in). I used it to play in a hardcore band and it worked surprisingly well the bridge pickup cut through everything leaving a mush...
