Yeah, the main weakness with Nickelback is the lyrics really. The music isn't exactly terrible. It's a whole lot better than most pop-rock crap.

For pop-rock, basically, it's okay really.

Also, there's a difference between plain mimicry and having INFLUENCES.

When I say a band are derivative, I don't mean that the basic sound of all their songs seems to be the same....

What are people's issues with Nickleback? Nickleback are, COMMERCIALLY speaking, a good band! They write catchy melodies and hooks that are radio-friendly. They churn out hit after hit.
