Not all 3D movies are made the same way. You'll come across some 3D movies that are pretty awful and you wish that you would have just watched it in 2D instead. Some edit it in as an after thought...

As for the lead in Rogue One. The trailers already spoiled it. Her father designed the Death Star. She isn't connected more than that.

I wouldn't put it past Disney to actually follow through with a bit of murder. I was a bit shocked to even see blood in Episode 7. It was a bit strange.
