Did Kurt not have an audition for Melvins before Nirvana formed? I remember reading that he was briefly in Earth, as well. I could be mistaken on both accounts, though...I'm just curious.

I agree with the whole thing about judging the band by what you perceive, but what's all the other stuff even about?

I was never a big fan of most grunge, but Nirvana came from a much more punk background than most grunge bands.

Nirvana are certainly not a "punk rock" band though.
