If you'd actually read and consider previous posts you'd see that nobody was literally saying Pixies are punk, the punk ethos is just a component in their sound, which I think is accurate.

I think the original point was that Nirvana and Pixies were more punk in their ethos than the likes of Green Day. Of course, I could have misinterpreted this, but it's what I personally think anyway.

If we really want to get pissy with this genre debate, there is a strong case for classifying Pixies as post-punk, especially their first three albums. And totally agree with Nirvana being more punk...
