I find it's more the guitar leads. There are way more bends and blues scales on this last disc and something about the way they're layered and the relatively sparse bass in some of the spacier...

voivod is pretty awesome but i can't help but laugh a bit anytime i hear them. i guess growing up as a french canadian it's easier for me to hear the slight accent that comes through in their vocals...

i've always heard that 'leviathan' was their best disc. dunno. i liked 'blood mountain' from the get go. blood and thunder is a great tune too, neil fallon from clutch does guest vocals on it.
