To be honest, I've also always despised Cannibal Corpse. And before you ask, no, it's not because of their gruesome lyrics, I just find their songs have no tune or even remote beat to them.

I actually do like Slipknot, but they are more like nu-metal, and some songs are even rap-metal.

So it depends what kind of music you are looking for when you're talking about Slipknot.
