I mean, I'm quite familiar with the concept of it. You have musicians like The Residents, Arthur Russell, and The Raincoats, but I would love to find more.

What about any that incorporate interesting lyrics? Or artists within the realm of Xiu Xiu or the Velvet Underground (who aren't quite Avant-garde, but you get what I mean).
