You could. The second-to-last item you got gets stored in a box in the top middle of the screen and drops down if you get hit or you press Select.

Do you have any idea how much Super Mario World I've played in my life? Possibly my most played game.



I have it on GBA and if my Advance weren't getting so sketchy I'd start it up.

And even though the art design to Yoshi's Island...

And even though the art design to Yoshi's Island kind of eclipsed Super Mario World it's still one of the best looking games of all-time. It's not often that a platformer sells its world that well.

First game I ever played. Along with Super Mario All-Stars it came with every Super Nintendo and I put so many hours of my life into that game that I probably could have been a successful human being...
