Haha, I don't mind exploitation flicks when they're done well (the original HHE, Martyrs, etc.), I was just hoping that likening to car crash/morbid curiosity would help explain it a little better.

There's kind of a "new wave" of really good horror coming out right now with movies like The Babadook, The Witch, Hush, It Follows (admittedly overrated as ****, but still great), and Under the Skin...

I've tried two to three episodes of the first three seasons, and AHS never seems to have enough to substantiate their storylines being fragmented by subplots. I say this as a huge horror fan.
