I guess exciting was the wrong word, interesting would be a better placeholder. You can show how meaningless war is while still creating a film that is interesting to watch beyond battle sequences...

I think I like King of the Hill better because the characters are great. Don't get me wrong, they're both 10/10 shows, I just think that KotH is funnier.

Ah I haven't seen that one, I'll look into it. I've seen The Thin Red Line and Tree of Life and thought that both were pretty good, the latter moreso.

You're right, they should just merge The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, and The Biggest Loser. It's all basically the same show. It's a shame that people have somehow forgotten how to be creative.

She doesn't consider herself a science fiction writer (she prefers the term speculative fiction) but Margaret Atwood has some great writing chops. I don't know any others though.
