I agree with part of what you said, but it depends on what you consider bad bass playing, most people i know consider Noel Redding a bad bass player, but i have never actualy heard him ruin a Jimi...

Whats wrong with bass?, i do think bassists get overlooked because of guitarists and drummers, but bass is just as important, its easy to play, but its hard to master...I want to take up bass myself...
