Playing it. My favorite thing about modal jazz (no Coltrane pun intended), is how consistently soothing it is. Is it that soothing charm that makes 20-somethings like me actually miss the 60's?

Hmm. Still, I'll probably listen to "Edition II" later. My rule is to listen to the original release, because any rerelease that's different may tamper with the original flow. But isn't Edition II...

I needed something soft, so I put on Mercy Mercy Mercy, some soul jazz. Pretty good album. Not as good as I hoped.
