I don't even see them that way. They are not particularly well done or memorable, but have enough going on to be watchable and entertaining without having to resort to the so-bad-it's-good argument.

I've never played the game, but the movie is fun in a very cartoonish way. I could imagine an anime fan like you really enjoying it.

I'm not much of a gamer, but I am a huge movie buff, so for me personally a good adaptation would be more interesting than the game it's based on.
