i play a lot of acoustic music...right now i'm working on a lot of work based off of Jack Johnson, Ben Harper, Matt Costa, etc.

check out Jack Johnson's "upside down" for an example.


also any "sappy classic love song" lyrics would be great. :P

Right, well I'll do that (I've got In Between Dreams right next to me now, as it happens). As I've said just in the last post, if you have any particular story that you'd like to tell - anything that interests you - then tell it to me here and I'll turn it into a lyric pretty soon. Otherwise, I'll just get back to you when I feel like it...

Yeah I used to write a rap battle every day, but I took credit for those rap battles. It's not like I was writing a rap for someone else to use and sponge off of. You shouldn't make a song for this guy. In my eyes, no-one should make songs for anyone else. It just fuels unoriginality in a world already filled with it. You're giving in to the system!

actually sharing lyrics is a perfectly good way to promote/advertise yourself as a lyric writer.

and its not like i'm gonna steal them...i've got every single person on this forum (including me) as a witness that they're not my lyrics.

yeah i'm pretty much cool with anything. i was thinking about trying to share any aspects of human nature...maybe how fear controls us as people?

but hey any aspects of human nature are generally safe topics to write about.

NO! If I don't write a lyric for him now I'll feel like I'm giving in to the Musicbanter peer pressure. Gnuhhh, so difficult to follow other people's codes of conduct, gnuhhh, must break unwritten rules, must break unwritten rules....

You can use any of these songs as long as I get writing recognition. I'll post a little blurb about the song and the title. These are ones I've written on the MB boards. I also just posted a collection of some raps I made awhile ago - you can take a look, I don't know how well they would transfer into songs.

I suggest looking at The Story of Lindsay first, Examining Love in the Case of Darling Mary second, and then I Wonder (Next Year) third. Those are my personal favorites... the other songs could inspire you musically, too. But have at em!
