Well, yes it is, because this one is about my girlfriend and the fact that I am something of a travelling/exploring/adventure junkie and that it's pretty much just the fact that I end up missing her like a big crybaby that stops me from spending my whole life running through jungle, up, down and off mountains, paddling down rivers and doing all that crazy **** that you can do with a few hundred quid, a lot of balls and little initiative.

I'll probably end up married, bitter and cynical, glaring at her across the sofa as the kids try to kill each other... I suppose sentiment can be yet another of the many self-destruct buttons we humans possess.

I did all that in my younger years. Foriegn travel/backpacking blah blah.

Ended up just as you describe you might...and you will. :(

Yeah, it's straight forward and simple. Not a word wasted.
Neat and tidy, which gives it that 'finished' look.
Possibly the best you've done yet, though I doubt you'd agree.

swim...backpacking in this order; Greek Islands (a memorable nightmare), South America (mainly Mexico with Barbados on the return), Europe (parts of), then South East Asia, which included Thailand (during a coop within a week of arriving and the whole country was put under Martial Law, for the duration of my stay :( ), Laos, Malaysia, plus an unforgettable, illegal trip across the Burmese border (under armed guard, during an airstrike on tribal factions). The time of my life...women don't compare. jk. jk. ;)

Note: not all done in one go.

after hearing the life story behind it... it made a lot more sense and gave it a lot more meaning...

yeah....just go off traveling, if it's a strong relationship you can stay together. although thats just my opinion.

about the song now, since this is a songwriting forum....I really liked the structure of it, its different and unpredictable. just out of curiosity, what kind of music are you planning on putting this to? in my head its kind of a softer accoustic song, just because it's my opinion that that style works really well with the kind of unstructured lyrics you've written
