2/6/07 First in months. First this year.

Overview: The song is repetitive, but it's slow pace will make the story work fine.
I guess this would apply to someone having a family member
on life support, and not wanting to pull the plug.
The "price you pay", would be a metaphor for the road of recovery.
It often progresses up to the point you think they're getting better,
then the recession begins again.
The "door" symbolizes death, and the lyrics go on to show
the subject asking to die.
The first lines are about the other family member, entering the hospital room.
"How could you bear to walk away?", would be an example
of the subject asking how someone could let him live in his shape.
"Let me do, what I've never done", is how the subject never decided for himself.
"I've had my chance to walk away", shows the subject's final decision.
I didn't start off intending to write on this topic, it just kind of spawned from the start.

[----------Verse 1----------]

Open the door - walk on through
Don't close your eyes, you'll see something new
Stranger things have happened before

One step back - two steps forward
That's the price you pay, to get through the door
Bigger dues have been paid before

[----------End Verse----------]

[----------Chorus 1----------]

Well, open the door - and walk on through
Don't be late, there's no time to lose
Just please don't turn and walk away

I've seen it before - you could not choose
Right from wrong, you never knew
How could you bear to walk away?

[----------End Chorus----------]

[----------Verse 2----------]

Open the door - walk on through
Don't be afraid, to step into
A room you've never seen before

One step back - two steps forward
All in all, that's the way it goes
I've often wondered why before

-

I've got nowhere - else to turn
Just let me do, what I've never done
I've had my chance to walk away

There is no will - left in me
Just let me loose, and set me free
Please don't let me live this way

[----------End Verse----------]

[----------Chorus 2----------]

Well, open the door - and walk on through
Don't be late, there's no time to lose
Just please don't turn and walk away

I've seen it before - you could not choose
Right from wrong, you never knew
How could you bear to walk away?

-

Open the door - and let me go
To the place, that I call home
I need to leave this life today

You've seen it before, so there's no rush
But take your time, to hurry up
I need to go before it's late

Let me go, oh...
Let me go, home
Let me go, oh...
Let me go, home

[----------End Chorus----------]

Great structure, but the lyrics aren't very interesting and it is a tad repetitive.
