This solitary life is a shell

You dwell in a perverse world of imagination
To escape from companionship with each other
An addiction to flesh is a façade
You hide behind lies, hide from
The need to connect with another

Are you afraid of failure
To commit to one being
Are you afraid of the fire
Too much for you to control

Will the sins of the patriarch
Be repeated by the legacy
Is your detachment
A preventative motion?

Die alone if you need
Drown in this shallow existence
You call living

At the time of cessation
