I Almost Died for Girl Talk [And I Don't Really Like Them]

I love you Girl Talk, but you’re not my girl,
That night I saved you from this crazy world.
We got stoned by an automatic crowd,
The speakers were silent but our voices were loud.

The policemen were there, and their guns were around,
Despite all their theatrics, safe wasn’t found.
Doors were broken and children cried.
On the night of my life, I almost died.

I love you Girl Talk, but I’m not your man.
Your man is an ******* but he’s still in the band.
The crowd was a stage for the surfers to swim;
There were plenty of drugs and we plenty like them.

And all of our push and all of our shove
Did nothing to sway the surfers above,
But they were set on events at hand:
Some free concert by an indie band.

I love you Girl Talk, but you’re miles away,
In a foreign world, something Irish I’d say.
The lights were ablaze and the acoustics were bad,
But the ravers were out and the dancing was rad.

And all of our push and all of our shove
Did nothing to sway the surfers above,
Everybody was pushed against the wall –
Freedom for each and stupid for all.

I love you Girl Talk, but you weren’t such a whore.
You came with the best but I yet needed more.
The traffic showed that our bodies could sway,
And no matter what, we still wanted to stay.

I love you Girl Talk, but you’re not here now.
