Pictures of a year long lost appear on the walls in my head
Reminding me who I was before I became broken and bent
A melody that plays all day, stops and starts
It faded into a sound, that sound's the beat of my heart
And though it beats, it's not as it used to be
And the pleasure days seem lost to me

Stood out in the pouring rain and waited for the day to end
still after all this time i don't know how to be a friend
Can't even talk it out without falling apart
So I count these years left on my hand and forget all that I lack
Though more than anything there's just one thing i'd like to have
It's a dream too far out of my grasp

If things were different I think that I would
But I don't think that I should
I don't expect you to understand...
