Hi. I write poems and play guitar. I'm going to share some of my poems with you guys.
If you don't mind... So this first one I wrote for a local poetry slam. It's coming up. Figured I should test the waters somewhere before I spit it in front of people... I'm shy... Anyway... Dreams more real than reality When we met I knew exactly what I wanted, Unfortunately for you and I, change is the only constant, I'm getting older every year and I'm learning every day, I really only stop when we ride our train of thought away, And even then it's not heaven, but hell, neither is life, God laid down his rules, but he also gave a choice, right? So when you're gone I write, and fight to find this light, Especially if the sun descends and I'm left under the blanket of a cold, cloudy night, It seems So cliche, however, so I'm a bit more subtle in my endeavors, I pray for answers before I sleep, but they don't make sense in my lucid dreams, Until the answers answer themselves in reality... In reality... In reality am I a product of what I see? Or a product of what I want to be? I want to see what the truth can bring but that road doesn't seem very righteous to me, In reality... So I dream of a place where things don't seem bleak, Where one Can make a difference and no one's asleep, Too bad That's not reality, When I'm conscious again there's no escape from my fate, So I sit here in my office chair and I wait... I wait... I wait... My road's been lit by florescent bulbs recently, The tide keeps rising but nobody wants to see, I keep forgetting who I am lately, And I know you better than you think I do, Because I know that you can feel for me... I need to be free, I'm not afraid of my ritualistic dreams, I want answers to the questions that can't be seen, And that makes me feel like a stranger, Y'know what I mean? -a stranger
