Help with album

I've been working on my debut album for quite some time. It's in the vein of Beatles-esque psychedelic pop, with some folk and prog influences. I've tried my hardest to do this completely on my own, writing, playing all the instruments, record and producing all by myself, but I've come to realize that I'm not that great at certain instruments. I'm great at drums, pretty good at piano and a beginner at guitar. This causes problems because it makes my songs sound amateurish and not well put together. I tried to get friends in town to help out, but most all of them were un-reliable. So I decided to come here and ask for help. If anyone plays an instrument and has good quality recording equipment, if you're willing to help out, it would be greatly appreciated.

um, somewhat close to me i guess, i live on the northeast coast of the US, but i have no ride and no passport...DAMMIT why cant i drive yet?!

blairlucasmusic 09-08-2010 04:29 PM

The point of this thread was to send people songs via email and have them record over them and then email them back. I don't understand why my location matters.

oh, me (and probly Crackerjack41) were thinking like you wanted someone to come up and help you record, lol. theres a guy i work with on the studio, i'll talk to him about it when i see him and tell you what he says

blairlucasmusic 09-08-2010 04:44 PM

Sounds good. Remember though, I'm looking for a specific sound.

emostreetguitar562268 09-08-2010 04:54 PM

yeah, im gonna write down exactly what you said in the first post and give it to the guy, see if he wants to take it on. since he's kinda the boss of the studio, if he doesnt wanna do it then i cant do anything about it, but i can be pretty persuasive when i wanna, i'll do my best.

Thanks man. I appreciate it.

hey blair you could try indabamusic.com it was created for online collaboration

emostreetguitar562268 09-09-2010 04:36 PM

^they have a good idea. its your choice, but i have to know by sunday.

blairlucasmusic 09-09-2010 04:39 PM

I tried Indaba. No one has shown any interest in collaborating on my songs. I tried that site for months now, with no word from anyone. So that choice is out the window.

emostreetguitar562268 09-09-2010 04:43 PM

^sorry it didnt work out there. i'll talk to the dude sunday, see what he says, if he's willing to try then i'll give you my email (or his).

You should send me some cuts of what you have completed right now. I can make some rough recordings for ideas and i can tab out the guitar lines if you want.

blairlucasmusic 09-11-2010 12:21 PM

Yeah man definitely. That would be great. Send me your email in a pm and i'll send you some stuff
