Critique/advice of this poem turned song please?
 

Song title: Traveling Backwards

You remind me of something from a dream
Something that's been unseen
An airy recollection from long ago
A bitter memory that's been hidden low
Deep in the recesses of my mind
Once something of a beautiful kind
Like a tornado you had knocked me down
Like the light of day you had me found

Keep me found and let go of the reins
Your heart is mine, no longer in vain
You come to me from the flash of the mind
Now you pierce me with your brightly lit eyes

That Sunday morning, I was unaware
That my head would be spinning by emotion so bare
Over the sip of my cup, I caught a glimpse
Of you staring at me with a vulnerable wince
Little did I know that like acid rain
You would melt my heart and I would soothe your pain

With nearly every piece of song writing/poetry I look at on here, I would have to say similar things. With this one...the lyrics are really solid, good rhymes, good visuals.

I guess it's hard to judge without knowing the melody or genre.

I like what I read, just can't hear it, ya know?
