So I already wrote a song, but I'm trying to write lyrics that are very controversial that would cause many people spark interest in my song. Any ideas on a topic that would spark major controversy but not totally hurt my bands reputation?

You should say how like the government is bad and how music is dead. That's edgy as **** you'll make billions.

Or you could write a song about Civil Rights. That would be novel, political, and forward-thinking.

Sparking controversy is going to hurt your band's reputation. If it wouldn't it wouldn't be controversial. And if you don't actually have anything controversial to say, then your song is probably just going to be boring. So you might as well just go all in and write about the socio-economic benefits of spousal abuse.
